Due to poor weather conditions expected over night, Spur ISD will start at 10:00 AM on Tuesday October 27, 2020. We will monitor the conditions early tomorrow morning and will let you know if things change. Please contact your childs campus principal if you have any questions.

We have driven roads this morning. Wet around Spur and some build up/ slushy areas but roadways were mainly wet. Roads were checked between 5 and 5:30 Conditions could always change. Please drive carefully.
Yesterday was the 1st 6 Weeks AR party for qualifying students who met their AR goal in grades 1st-5th. It's always a fun way to reward the students for working so hard and Ms. Smith does a great job planning it!
The varsity football team will be leaving at 2:30 for the game against Northside on Friday. We will have a send-off between the HS and Elementary buildings at 2:20.
Juniors and Seniors could will a trip of a lifetime. Register today for the South Plains Electric Cooperative Youth Tour at www.spec.coop under Members Services. Students were emailed the link through their Spur Bulldog account. Deadline is November 6.
Basketball shirt order forms are now available. There will be 2 color choices. Return the form by Oct. 30th to Mrs. Martinez.
There will be a junior high Hawaiian pep rally tomorrow, 10/15, at 3:20 pm in the dome!! Wear a floral shirt or something beachy (within dress code) to support the Bullpups as they “lei” out Vernon Northside!
FAFSA Zoom Meeting Tonight at 6:00 pm. Presented by Panhandle-Plains Management & Servicing Corporation. Link available on the Spur Bulldogs Homepage. Seniors were sent home a blue folder with copies of the PowerPoint and other helpful handouts for completing the FAFSA.
FAFSA Workshop: There will be a virtual workshop for the FAFSA tomorrow, Oct 13, at 6:00pm. A link will be available on the school website and also emailed to every senior as Spur High School.
Picture day is Monday, October 12, 2020. We will start with Elem. and finish with Sr's. Seniors will have school photos and Drape/Tux pictures. All forms are being sent home today. Please check backpacks/vehicles. REMOTE learners' picture window is 10:30-11:00 AM at the Domes.

This week's pep rally theme is Pink Out. Come support the Bulldogs and wear pink at the pep rally on Friday, October 9th at 3:15.
Spur vs Whiteface will be streamed live tonight on facebook.com/spurisd. Tune in to watch the Bulldogs take on the Antelopes at 7:30 pm. Go Bulldogs!!!

Reminders:
Pep-rally @3:20 in the Dog Domes. Visitors must have a mask on during the pep-rally. Once the pep-rally is concluded visitors/fans must exit before students will be released to leave the gym.
If for some reason you cannot come out the ball games tonight they will be live streamed at https://www.nfhsnetwork.com . All Spur ISD home football and basketball games will be available to be watched live through the NFHS Network. You will have to pay for a subscription but it will allow us to offer another way for you to watch your athletes compete. Also,if you have family members that are playing at other schools that have NFHS live streamed you are able to watch them as well.
Tonight's football games vs White Deer at Jones Stadium.
Junior High will start at 5:30 and Varsity at 7:30. Gate prices will be 5.00 for adults and 1 dollar for students. If possible please bring exact change to pay at the gate.
In order to enter Spur ISD facilities anyone over 10 years old must wear a face covering.
Face coverings must be worn:
1. In the stands but can be removed if socially distanced from members outside your family.
2. Areas around the concession stand.
3. Restrooms
Spectators should remain socially distant and respect others preferred spacing.
Elementary students must remain with parents or guardians.
All spectators must self- screen prior to arrival and Spur ISD facilities.
Anyone with Covid-19 symptoms should not attend.
If you have a temperature over 100 degrees you should not attend the game.
Spur fans will be able to sit in areas of the stands that are not blocked off by cones or rope. Both sides of the concrete stands are for Spur fans. Visiting fans will sit across the field behind their team
Spur Fans will enter Jones Stadium from the Home side. You will not be allowed to walk up from the bottom.
Visiting Fans will enter Jones Stadium from the Swenson Park Entrance.
We do not like having to require/ wear face coverings any more than you but we will continue to do so in an attempt to allow our students the opportunity to compete in the activities they love while remaining in FACE TO FACE instruction.
